The audio version of Pain and I is a 30-minute headphone experience, written and performed by Sarah Hopfinger with sound and music design by Alicia Jane Turner. It is a caring yet direct, gentle yet bold, experience, which includes poetic text framed as a love letter to Hopfinger’s pain along with creative movement descriptions.

This piece can be accessed in a venue or from wherever is most suited to an audience member – indoors, outdoors, at home, in bed, on a walk, in a park, at work, alone, with others.

Originally commissioned and presented at Take Me Somewhere for their 2021 festival, the Audio has been presented with The Roundhouse, Dundee Rep and Summerhall.
